CDTA board members are appointed by the governor and
confirmed by the state senate. There are 3 board seats from
Albany County and 2 each from Rensselaer, Saratoga and
Schenectady Counties.
The CDTA Board meets regularly. Board meetings are normally
held at CDTA’s administrative offices at 110 Watervliet
Avenue in Albany.

From north, south,east, or west, the Capital District Transportation Authority is easy to reach. We are centrally located near the major highways in New York State.
From the South:
Take I-87, north to exit 23. At exit 23, get on I-787 north to Albany. Take Exit for I-90 West. Proceed to Exit 5 Everett Road. At end of exit ramp, turn left. Go to second traffic signal and turn left on Watervliet Avenue Extension. Go to first set of lights, take left onto Watervliet Avenue. The Capital District Transportation Authority is on your left at the bottom of the hill.
From the North:
Take I-87, the Adirondack Northway, south to exit 1E. Take I-90 East. Proceed to Exit 5 Everett Road. At end of exit ramp, turn right. Go to first traffic signal and turn left on Watervliet Avenue Extension. Go to first set of lights, take left onto Watervliet Avenue. The Capital District Transportation Authority is on your left at the bottom of the hill.
From the East:
Take I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike, Berkshire Spur of the New York Thruway), to exit B1. Continue west on I-90 West. Proceed to Exit 5 Everett Road. At end of exit ramp, turn left. Go to second traffic signal and turn left on Watervliet Avenue Extension. Go to first set of lights, take left onto Watervliet Avenue. The Capital District Transportation Authority is on your left at the bottom of the hill.
From the Northeast:
Take Vermont Route 9 West from Bennington to New York State, where the road becomes NY Route 7. Take Route 7 to Troy, where it becomes Hoosick Street. Follow Hoosick Street in Troy downhill to 787-South to Albany. Take Exit for I-90 West.Proceed to Exit 5 Everett Road. At end of exit ramp, turn left. Go to second traffic signal and turn left on Watervliet Avenue Extension. Go to first set of lights, take left onto Watervliet Avenue. The Capital District Transportation Authority is on your left at the bottom of the hill.
From the West:
Take I-90, the New York State Thruway, to exit 24. From exit 24, take I-90 East. Proceed to Exit 5 Everett Road. At end of exit ramp, turn right. Go to first traffic signal and turn left on Watervliet Avenue Extension. Go to first set of lights, take left onto Watervliet Avenue. The Capital District Transportation Authority is on your left at the bottom of the hill.
Rensselaer Rail Station - Driving Directions
From north, south,east, or west, the Rensselaer Rail Station is easy to reach. We are
centrally located near the major highways in New York State.
From the South:
Take I-87, north to exit 23. At exit 23, get on I-787 north to Albany. Take Exit for Dunn Memorial Bridge. On
Exit ramp bear right (follow signs for Rensselaer and Rail Station after crossing Bridge).
After Crossing Hudson River bear right on exit ramp. At end of exit ramp, turn left. Go to
second traffic signal and turn right. Go to first set of lights, take right onto East
Street. The Rail Station is on your right.
From the North:
Take I-87, the Adirondack Northway, south to exit 7 east. Take Route 7-East for 3 miles. Take I-787-South to Albany. Take Exit for
Empire State Plaza. On Exit ramp bear left
(follow signs for Rensselaer and Rail Station after crossing Bridge). After Crossing
Hudson River bear right on exit ramp. At end of exit ramp, turn left. Go to second traffic
signal and turn right. Go to first set of lights, take right onto East Street. The Rail
Station is on your right.
From the East:

Exit ramp bear left (follow signs for Rensselaer and Rail Station after crossing Bridge).

second traffic signal and turn right. Go to first set of lights, take right onto East
Street. The Rail Station is on your right
From the Northeast:
