CDTA Recognizes Law Enforcement Officials

Authority “Thank You” in Honor of Public Service Recognition Week

ALBANY, NY (May 4, 2016) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) delivered special “thank you” packages to law enforcement, fire and emergency personnel across its four-county service area during Public Service Recognition Week (May 1-7). The gesture is to acknowledge how these departments allow CDTA to operate more effectively and carry out its mission throughout the Capital Region.

CDTA personnel delivered a “sweet” token of appreciation to the Police Departments, Fire Departments and Sheriff’s Offices in Albany, Schenectady, Troy and Saratoga on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. A specially-created card was sent to dozens of additional key agencies within those counties as well.

Chief Executive Officer Carm Basile and Board Members Art Young and Joe Spairana made a special delivery to the Albany Police Headquarters on Henry Johnson Boulevard to Albany Police, Fire and the Albany County Sheriff’s Office to extend the Authority’s gratitude for their service.

Throughout the year, CDTA buses are safe havens for emergency officials, volunteers and others during fires, natural disasters and events where a covered, heated or air conditioned environment is needed. We work with law enforcement officials to provide shelter and transport families to safe residences during troubling times
