CDTA To Hold Public Meetings

For Input On Saratoga County Restructuring

Population Growth, Sustainability & Community Development to Be Addressed

ALBANY, N.Y. (April 28, 2015) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced today it will hold public meetings to gather feedback on proposed route restructuring of its services in Saratoga County.

CDTA is restructuring Saratoga County services to establish new routing that better aligns services to demand because where people live and work continues to shift. The new structure will be based on ridership data, planned developments, and most importantly, input from riders and residents. CDTA conducted a similar route restructuring back in 2007, leading to significant ridership increases across Saratoga County. Subsequent restructurings in Albany, Rensselaer and Schenectady Counties have resulted in record ridership for CDTA, and growth of its Universal Access program with area universities and businesses.

CDTA will conduct public meetings, engage additional community stakeholders, enhance customer surveys and take general comments through its website and social media channels in preparation of a draft plan that will be available following the initial comment period. Once a draft plan has been created, CDTA will conduct further meetings for additional feedback before rolling out the final plan later this year. The public meeting schedule is as follows:
