Rail Stations
Closure of Herrick St. Bridge to Rensselaer Rail Station Starts May 6, 2008
From Tuesday May 6 until approximately Friday, July 4, CDTA will have bridge and parking garage maintenance activities taking place at the Rensselaer Rail Station in the City of Rensselaer. This is a three phase project which could cause some delays to motorists traveling to the station.
Phase one starts at 9AM on Tuesday, May 6. During this phase, all motorists traveling to the Rail station will have to enter via East street because the Herrick Street Bridge between Broadway and the Rail Station will be closed to vehicles and pedestrian traffic. From Broadway, the posted local detour will be north along Broadway past Herrick Street, take the second right on Partition street and the next right on East Street to the Train Station.
Phase two is scheduled to start on Monday, May 26. During this phase, all motorists traveling to the Rail Station will have to enter via Broadway because the Herrick Street Bridge between East Street and the Rail Station will be closed to vehicles and pedestrian traffic. From East Street, there will be a posted detour to the Broadway entrance.
Phase three is scheduled to start Monday, June 16. During this phase, the bridge will be open and motorists can enter the rail station from Broadway or East St.
Associated with all three phases of the project, there will be temporary traffic pattern changes within the Rail Station parking area.
From May 6 through July 4, motorists should allow extra travel time to the Rensselaer Rail Station.
This work is weather dependent and inclement weather could possibly result in schedule delays.
