Stuff the Bus

The Capital Region Community comes together to help people put food on the table this holiday season

ALBANY, NY (November 16, 2022) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will come together with Whitney Young Health to have the community stuff a CDTA bus with non-perishable food, baby items, and hygiene products that will benefit The Food Pantries for the Capital District. The bus will be parked at the Price Chopper Parking lot in Westgate Plaza, 911 Central Avenue, Albany. It will be there Wednesday, November 16, and Thursday, November 17 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Food Pantries for the Capital District is a coalition of 67 food pantries in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties. These food pantries serve the hungry directly. As Capital Region residents as well as food pantries deal with higher food prices, it’s essential for the community to donate these important items ahead of the holiday season when families come together, and children are on break from school.

Items to be donated at the two-day stuff the bus event are non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items and infant items such as diapers, wipes and formula. Please stay away from donating home canned food items, outdated items, items with no label and glass jars.
