Community Vision

The Capital District Transportation Authority provides a multimodal network of programs and services that responds to the needs of New York’s Capital Region. This network is financially sound, easy to support and flexible to changing conditions. The foundation of our company are the people who work here – more than 750 men and women dedicated to providing the best services possible, introducing initiatives and technology that keep us responsive to community needs.

Our service network includes regular route, bus rapid transit, on demand transit, express service, seasonal trolleys, park and ride lots and service for people with disabilities (STAR). Our regional network connects people to work, services and recreation. We also partner with the community to provide service for many special events and regional economic development initiatives. Our service is designed to stimulate ridership and meet the transportation challenges of tomorrow.

We are proud to lead regional mobility, focused on delivering solutions that connect communities and improve access for those living in our service area. We could not accomplish this work without our many partners that work cooperatively to support regional accessibility through initiatives that support economic development and opportunity.

Our employees are committed to providing a menu of mobility choices that connect communities in an easy-to-understand and efficient manner. The idea of mobility as a service allows us to work with the development community to improve regional infrastructure and make our services more attractive.

CDTA is the regional mobility leader, and we are committed to the communities we serve. We will deliver innovative services, progressive programs, and leadership that enhances the quality of life for our employees, customers, friends, and partners.
