Annual Day Honors Essential Workers and Their Contribution to the Community
ALBANY, NY (March 17, 2023) On Saturday, March 18, 2023, make sure you take the time to thank a transit worker. CDTA, and transit systems across the country, will celebrate the tens of thousands of hard-working transit workers who keep our communities moving safely and efficiently, seven days a week, 365 days a year. CDTA is celebrating its 750 employees in several ways and is encouraging its customers and the community to thank a transit worker.
“The contributions of our operators, mechanics, supervisors, customer service representatives and so many others are what makes CDTA go,” said CDTA CEO Carm Basile. “We are fortunate to have some of the very best transit workers providing essential services every day to keep the Capital Region connected. I am grateful for their hard work and dedication to our customers and to the community every day.”
CDTA encourages riders to say, “Thank You” when they ride throughout the weekend. If a customer or member of the community would like to submit a formal commendation, they can call the customer service center at (518) 482-8822 or visit our website, www.cdta.org and fill out a comment form. Frontline workers will also be featured on CDTA social media sites over the next few days.
The nationally recognized day will be highlighted on social media by transit agencies across the country.
