Customers to Pay Same Fare as Regular Route Service

ALBANY, NY (January 14, 2022)

CDTA’s FLEX On Demand service is a complementary option to its fixed route services. To make it even easier to use, CDTA will introduce a new payment structure in its Colonie, Guilderland and Latham Zone beginning on Sunday January 30, 2022.

Customers who ride in the Colonie, Guilderland and Latham FLEX zone will pay just $1.50 per trip (half the current price). FLEX customers enjoy curb-to-curb service by downloading the free TransLoc App on their phone and requesting a ride in the service area. FLEX fares will now be aligned to the fare structure on fixed route service.

The Colonie, Guilderland and Latham FLEX Zone will also see expanded hours with service available Monday – Saturday from 6:00am to 10:45pm and on Sundays from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available for interested customers.

Moving forward, customers that utilize CDTA’s Navigator program will see the Colonie, Guilderland and Latham FLEX Zone included with pre-payment options including Frequent Rider passes, Northway Xpress Frequent Rider passes and all other prepaid fare media. FLEX 10-trip passes will be discontinued; customers who have already purchased a 10-trip pass should contact CDTA’s Sales department at (518) 437-6876 for assistance.

The Southern Saratoga County FLEX service will continue to operate free of charge during its pilot period. That service operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on the weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

FLEX vehicles undergo a rigorous cleaning and disinfecting processes to ensure customer safety and security. FLEX vehicles are also equipped with a commercial grade air purification system that uses Photohydroionization® Cell (PHI-Cell®) technology to clean the air.
