Holiday Service Schedules For Christmas & New Year’s Day

ALBANY, NY (December 22, 2017) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) on New Year’s Eve, Sunday, December 31, 2017, service will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. To help support Capital Region Stop DWI efforts, CDTA will offer free bus service at all regular bus stops from 8:00pm on New Year’s Eve, Sunday, December 31, 2017 through the end of the transit day, approximately 2:00am on Monday, January 1, 2018. Please check to see what routes are scheduled to operate during Holiday times. 

CDTA is once again offering special Saratoga First Night transportation on New Year’s Eve. Attendees who show First Night buttons may ride for free on all regular Saratoga bus routes and special shuttle routes from 4:00pm – 1:00am.

On New Year’s Day, Monday, January 1, 2018, service will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. Regular weekday service will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

CDTA’s Northway Xpress (NX) commuter service will not operate on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Regular NX service will resume the day after each holiday.

Electric City Trolley-New Year’s Eve Service

• CDTA’s Electric City Trolley will operate along its route in Schenectady on New Year’s Eve, Sunday, December 31, 2017 as part of county-wide STOP DWI efforts. 

• Trolley service will operate on New Year’s Eve from 4:00pm to 1:00am, arriving at stops throughout downtown every 20 minutes. 

• The trolley service stops at a number of key locations in Schenectady, including Rivers Casino & Resort, Mohawk Harbor, the Schenectady Public Library, Hampton Inn, The Stockade, Amtrak Station, Proctors, Little Italy, State Street, Lower Union Street, DoubleTree Hotel and Courtyard Marriott. • The Electric City Trolley will conclude service for the season this weekend. It will resume in spring 2018.
