Additional Service Will Run to Accommodate Empire State Plaza Fireworks Show
ALBANY, NY (June 28, 2023) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Fourth of July, Tuesday, July 4, 2023. The Northway Xpress (NX) and Thruway Xpress (TX) commuter services will not run. Weekday service will resume on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. The CDTA Sales window at 85 Watervliet Avenue in Albany will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, and will reopen on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.
CDTA will provide additional service to accommodate New York State’s Fourth of July Celebration at the Empire State Plaza, including special service that will operate after the fireworks are done. Extra buses will be available on Washington Avenue between South Swan and Hawk Streets at the conclusion of the fireworks display.
