Masks now optional on CDTA services and in CDTA facilities

ALBANY, NY (September 7, 2022) Effective immediately, masks are no longer required to be worn by customers or employees on board any CDTA service on in any CDTA facility. Governor Hochul lifted the mask mandate for public transportation on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. CDTA is updating our policy and masks are optional for all employees and customers on any CDTA vehicle or in any CDTA facility.

CDTA encourages all customers and employees to stay home and away from public transit if you are sick, have COVID-19, or believe you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19. CDTA encourages everyone to be respectful of customers and employees who choose to wear a mask for their personal safety.
