CDTA ANNOUNCES WINNER OF FAVORITE BUS OPERATOR CONTEST IN HONOR OF INTERNATIONAL BUS DRIVER APPRECIATION DAY

(Albany, NY) - The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced the winner of the “Favorite Bus Operator” contest held in honor of International Bus Driver Appreciation Day, on Sunday, March 18, 2012. All entries were placed in a random drawing for a 31 Day Rolling pass.

The winner of the random drawing is Theresa Waller of Schenectady. Ms. Waller voted for Operator William McCormick who drives Route 70 as her favorite operator. She states that he “makes me feel like the bus service is her personal limo. He knows all of the customers by names and their schedules and looks out for them to make sure that they make their connections. He treats all of his customers as “Special”, even bringing donuts for them on special occasions.”

During the week of March 19th, CDTA customers were invited email cdta@cdta.org and submit the name of their favorite CDTA operator, list the route they drive and share a story or a reason as to why they chose this operator. CDTA received many entries complimenting their operators for the work they do every day.
