(Scotia, NY) – The Freedom Park board and community supporters announced 30 plus nights of free entertainment from June 20th through August 29th with shows scheduled on every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday nights at 7:00pm at the Freedom Park stage located on Schonowee Avenue, Scotia across from Collins Park.

The summer schedule offers free entertainment for everyone with performances ranging from rock, country, jazz, andpolka tomusical theater. “Freedom Park has been a Capital Region summertime tradition since 1975, every year offering new and exciting free entertainment to suit every taste in a family style setting,” said Nell Burrows, Freedom Park Board President. “This year, we’ve expanded our program to include season sponsor Scotia Glenville Dental Center to help maintain quality talent, a full schedule and keep our shows free as wells as media sponsors to get the word out to the entire Capital Region about our great shows.”

Parking is available at a short walking distance at the following locations: off Beach Road, Beukendaal Temple on Schonowee Avenue and the First Reformed Church on Route 50. Attendees may wish to bring low chairs or a blanket for the outdoor amphitheatre. The park is conveniently located next to Jumping Jacks, an outdoor restaurant offering burgers, dogs, fries and ice cream.

Freedom Park is a non-profit organization, supported by sponsorships, memberships, grants and donations.  Free shows are made possible through the generous support of business sponsors, the Village and Town, and grants from the Schenectady County Initiative Program.  Freedom Park was built in 1975 for the Bicentennial Celebration.

The 2012 Freedom Park Concert Series is brought to you by Scotia-Glenville Dental Center, and media partners YNN, B95.5FM, Spotlight newspapers and CDTA.
