Authority to Donate Tickets for April 19th Match-Up to Collegiate Partners

(Albany, NY) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) is partnering with the Albany Devils hockey team on College Night to highlight the significant role area universities play in our community. CDTA will donate 100 tickets to each of its 10 universal access college partners for the April 19th Devils game against Connecticut.

“We thought this was a great way to give back to a community that has supported us so strongly,” said CDTA Director of Marketing Jonathan Scherzer. “The Capital Region is known for its colleges and what better way to celebrate than at a great local sports event at the Times Union Center right in the heart of our service area.” Nearly half of CDTA’s 60+ bus routes converge in downtown Albany to provide connections throughout the Capital Region.

CDTA offers partnerships to area businesses, schools and universities that provide unlimited access to its service network across the Capital Region. CDTA’s local, express and commuter routes connect to residential, employment, retail and medical centers. Universal access arrangements provide participants with affordable, environmentally-responsible commuting options for their community and account for nearly 3 million annual boardings on CDTA buses.

CDTA universal access partners include the University of Albany, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the College of St. Rose, Schenectady County Community College, the Sage Colleges, Siena College, Hudson Valley Community College, Branford Hall Career Institute and ShopRite supermarkets. Benefits for universal access partners include; decreased parking demand, enhanced employee retention, and additional cost savings from not having to build transit infrastructure or operate their own transportation system to accommodate business growth.
