CDTA Invites Public to Participate in Green Your Commute Day

May 15, 2013

(Albany, NY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) is collaborating with several partners on the inaugural “Green Your Commute” Day on Friday, May 17, 2013, 11:00am – 2:00pm at Tricentennial Park to highlight alternate modes of transportation and invite the public to rethink how they commute. 80% of Capital Region commuters regularly travel to work in single occupancy vehicles. A CDTA hybrid bus, along with several hybrid and electric vehicles will be on display.

CDTA will also show participants how to use bus bike racks, which were used more than 70,000 times to better connect customers last year. For added convenience, close to 1000 land bike racks are located around the Capital Region within ¼ mile of a bus route.

CDTA is offering free, one day bus passes for use on May 17th Green Your Commute Day, one per person while supplies last. Participants can pick up their free one day bus pass in advance at the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District Offices located at 40 North Pearl Street in Albany.
