The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) held an open house to present its plans for a bus rapid transit (BRT) line to be built along the corridor of Washington and Western Avenues. Community members are invited to provide input on how to best deliver this innovative service.

The proposed eight-mile BRT line will travel from downtown Albany to Crossgates Mall with stations connecting University at Albany campuses, College of Saint Rose, the State Office Campus, and multiple urban neighborhoods and business districts.

BRT is one of the fastest-growing service categories in the country, and locally provides a transportation alternative that improves connections to jobs and stimulates the Capital Region’s economy.

The public will be able to view maps of both the Washington-Western project and the full “40 miles of BRT” system map which show proposed stations and regional connections.
