CDTA May Service Changes Now In Effect

The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA)  announced the following service changes went  into effect on Sunday, May 25, 2014. The changes included improved access on New Scotland Avenue, additional service to Wilton Mall and more service options on the Northway Xpress. Some of the changes made schedules more reliable, while areas with low ridership saw reductions.

Improvements /Additions:

Route #13 New Scotland Avenue –service frequency will be improved to every 45 minutes during evening hours

Route #85 Waterford/Troy – hours of operation on Sunday will be extended to 8:30pm

Route #87 Beman Park – hours of operation on Sunday will be extended to 8:00pm

Route #116 Albany/Menands – service frequency will be improved to every 45 minutes during the midday

Route #472 Lake Avenue – Service to Wilton Mall will be added to the route

 

Northway Xpress – Additional trips to Corporate Woods and a new northbound trip to Saratoga in the afternoon will be added

 

Route Consolidations or Reductions:

Route #50 Route 50 – Deviations into Unlimited Potential will be discontinued

Route #116 Albany/Menands – service north of downtown Albany will be discontinued, including service to Ward’s Lane in Menands. Customers can use Route #22 on Broadway and Route #182 on Northern Boulevard and Van Rensselaer Boulevard

Route #117 Guilderland/Colonie – hours of operation on weeknights will reduced to 7:45pm

Route #280 Troy/Albia - Sunday service will be eliminated because of low ridership. Service on Saturday will be compressed to operate from 8:45am-7:15pm. Service on weeknights will end at 8:00pm. Alternative service is available to customers by using Route #’s 286 and 289.

Route #352 McClellan & Altamont – hours of operation on weeknights will be reduced to 8:45pm

Route #472 Lake Avenue – Service to Pyramid Pines Estates will be discontinued

Route #719 Altamont/Voorheesville – the 7:45am trip will begin at the Elm Ave Park & Ride at 8:56am. It will no longer operate to Altamont and Voorheesville.

Route #734 Hackett/Buckingham Pond – the 9:00am westbound trip from downtown Albany and the 5:30pm eastbound trip from Ohav Shalom will be discontinued.

Route #814 Castleton Shopping Shuttle – this service will be discontinued

 

Time Adjustments

Minor time adjustments will be made to the following routes to improve schedule reliability:

#1 Central Avenue                              #7 Glenmont                                   #10 Western Avenue

#12 Washington Avenue                     #50 Route 50

#114 Madison/Washington                  #182 Troy/Cohoes/Latham             #190 Fuller/Wolf

#224 Albany/Troy/Rensselaer             #355 Schenectady/Colonie             #370 Troy/Schenectady
