Meeting will be held at Crandall Public Library on August 4, 2026
ALBANY, NY (July 29, 2026) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will hold an informational session on Tuesday, August 4, at 6:00 p.m. at the Crandall Public Library, 251 Glen Street, Glens Falls, to present upcoming service improvements and route changes that will enhance reliability, efficiency, and overall customer experience.
CDTA has been operating in Glens Falls for more than two years. Greater Glens Falls Transit merged into CDTA in January 2024. After collecting sufficient ridership, service data, and feedback from customers, CDTA is implementing its first comprehensive service update for the Glens Falls region.
The upcoming service changes will take effect on Sunday, August 23, and include:
- Route #402 (Bay/College) – Route extended to cover Glens Falls Hospital and Broad Street Hannaford on weekdays. Saturday service is eliminated.
- Route #404 (Hudson Falls/Fort Edward) – Service will end at 9 p.m. on weekdays.
- Route #405 (Moreau/S. Glens Falls) – Saturday service is eliminated.
- Route #407 (West Glens Falls) – Service is eliminated except for trips at 6:40 a.m./6:55 a.m. and 3:46 p.m./4:06 p.m. on weekdays. Customers can take #402 to access Glens Falls Hospital and Hannaford.
- Route #411 (Glen St./Walmart) – Frequency will increase to every 40 minutes on weekdays, and new service will be added from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
- Route #412 (Glen St./Aviation Mall) – Frequency will increase to every 40 minutes on weekdays.

Route #713 (Saratoga/Glens Falls) – Last northbound trip shifted later to depart from Saratoga Springs at 5:40 p.m. on weekdays.
These updates represent Phase Two of CDTA's service update in Glens Falls. In April 2026, CDTA hosted a public meeting to gather input from customers about how CDTA service could better meet the community's needs. Phase One, implemented on May 24, 2026, focused on schedule optimization and has already improved on-time performance to approximately 80% on most routes.
The August informational meeting will provide customers with an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming changes, ask questions, and speak directly with CDTA employees before the new service takes effect on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
