The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will make service changes to routes on Sunday, November 29, 2026
ALBANY, NY (October 29, 2026) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will make service changes to routes on Sunday, November 29, 2026. In addition to routine updates, CDTA is currently going through a service rebalancing, taking a critical look at the system, and focusing on optimizing it. CDTA aims to enhance efficiency and allocate resources effectively based on ridership trends. These changes are also intended to make the system more reliable and sustainable. Customers should review schedules and check trip times for the following routes:
Service Updates:
- Route #1 (Central Avenue) – Weekday frequency will be reduced.
- Route #18 (Delaware Avenue) – Weekday frequency will be reduced.
- Route #106 (Uptown Belt) – Weekday evening frequency will be reduced.
- Route #114 (Madison Ave. – Western Ave.) – Weekday frequency will be reduced.
- Route #214 (Rensselaer 3rd Street) – Two trips per day will serve Franciscan Heights Apartments and Van Rensselaer Heights Apartments on weekdays.
- Route #355 (Schenectady Wolf Road) – Weekday frequency will be reduced.
- Route #370 (Troy/Schenectady) – Saturday frequency will be reduced.
- Route #821 (North Greenbush Shopping Bus) – Trips will no longer serve Franciscan Heights and Van Rensselaer Heights. Customers can now use Route #214 on weekdays.
- Route #910 (Purple Line BRT) – Weekday frequency will be reduced.
- Routes #922 and #923 (Blue Line BRT) – Weekday frequency will be reduced.
FLEX Service in Amsterdam
- Route #600 (Neighborhood Belt) – This route will only be in service in the morning and afternoon peaks to help accommodate getting students to school. Customers will have access to FLEX On Demand.
- Route #601 (S. Amsterdam & Route 30) – This route will only be in service in the morning and afternoon peaks to help accommodate getting students to school. Customers will have access to FLEX On Demand.
- FLEX informational sessions will be held for customers on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Amsterdam High School and Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Amsterdam City Hall.
Minor schedule adjustments will be made to the following routes and schedules:
- Route #802 (Troy Shuttle)
- Route #810 (Schenectady Shuttle)
