Jayme Lahut Elected to Serve as Chairman of the Board

Lahut to Continue Vision for a Robust Future of Mobility in the Region

 

ALBANY, NY (April 30, 2019) - The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced its slate of officers for fiscal year 2020 at the April meeting of the board of directors. Jayme B. Lahut was elected Chairman of the Board. Lahut, who lives in Niskayuna and represents Schenectady County, succeeds Georgeanna Nugent as chair. Board officers serve one- year terms and are elected by the peers.

The company has become a critical partner in the economic development of our community. I am fortunate to be surrounded by tenured board members who bring a wealth of knowledge and have served as valuable resources for me. I am looking forward to advancing the CDTA agenda and further integrating and deepening mobility choices for people who live and work in the Capital Region.”

Lahut was appointed to the CDTA Board of Directors in 2017. He is Executive Director of the Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority. A native of Troy, he brings 30 years of progressive experience and broad-based achievement in economic and community development.

The full slate of CDTA board officers are:

  • Chairman – Jayme B. Lahut (represents Schenectady County)
  • Vice-Chairman – Michael J. Criscione (represents Albany County)
  • Treasurer – David M. Stackrow (represents Rensselaer County)
  • Secretary- Mark Schaeffer (represents Albany County)
  • Past Chairwoman – Georgeanna Nugent (represents Saratoga County)

Michael J. Criscione was elected Vice Chairman. He was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2017 and was elected Vice-Chairman in 2018. An Albany resident, he represents Albany County on the board. Criscione operates his own Insurance Agency in Saratoga Springs.

David M. Stackrow was elected Treasurer. He has been a Board Member since 1995, making him the longest tenured member in CDTA history. Stackrow has served as CDTA Board Chair on three separate occasions. He lives in Poestenkill and represents Rensselaer County on the board. In addition to his role on the CDTA Board, Stackrow is Chairman of the American Public Transportation Association, the transit industry’s national trade organization and principal advocate. He is the managing partner at Scott Stackrow and Company, CPA’s, P.C. in Troy.

Mark Schaeffer was elected Secretary. He was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2016. An Albany resident, he represents Albany County on the board. Schaeffer is a retired computer professional who spent 29 years working for New York State, at the Department of Health and at the Department of Social Services.

Georgeanna (Georgie) Nugent will serve as Past Chairwoman. She was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2009 and has served as Board Chair for the past year. A resident of Saratoga Springs, Ms. Nugent represents Saratoga County. Georgie is the Director of Classic and Signature Sanctuary Programs for Audubon International. She also serves on the NYRA Board of Directors.

The other members of the CDTA Board are Denise Figueroa (represents Albany County), Jaclyn Falotico (represents Schenectady County) and Corey Bixby (represents labor).
