ALBANY, N.Y. - The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) Board of Directors announced the rollout of a Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) pilot program for its fleet of fixed route buses. RTPI takes the guesswork out of waiting and puts the power of riding in the customer’s hands by using Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) software to determine bus location and speed.

CDTA Announces Election Day Bus Service

(Albany, NY)  –The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2014, buses will operate on a regular weekday schedule including the NX Northway Xpress Commuter service.

Anyone needing more information on reroutes or other CDTA services should contact CDTA's Information Center at 482-8822 . Information operators are on duty 6am-7pm weekdays, 8am - 6pm Saturday and 8am - 5pm Sunday's and holidays.

CDTA RECEIVES $1.6 MILLION FOR INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS

ALBANY, NY (October 27, 2014) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced today that it was awarded $1.6 million dollars in federal funding that will be used to improve infrastructure along the proposed River Corridor Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line. The River Corridor will stretch 15 miles along major segments of NYS Route 32 and Route 4 through the communities along the Hudson River from downtown Albany to Waterford.

Schumer announced today the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will receive $15 million dollars in funding from the Department of Transportation’s TIGER (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery) Grant Program. The funding is the first ever TIGER Award for the Capital Region and will be used to create a new state-of-the-art radio communications system to support CDTA’s growing ridership and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Network.
