The Capital District Transportation Authority is undertaking a major route restructuring of its services in Albany County. The purpose is to establish a new routing network that better aligns services to demand because where people live, work, shop and travel has changed dramatically over the years. The planning for the new route system will be based on ridership data, future developments, and most importantly, input from riders and residents. We have conducted similar route restructuring in Saratoga and Schenectady Counties, which have resulted in increased transit ridership.
(ALBANY) - The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Monday, July 4, 2011, in observance of Independence Day, CDTA service will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. Only bus routes that operate on Sundays and Holidays will be in service. Regular service will resume on Tuesday, July 5, 2011. CDTA will also operate additional evening service for the Independence Day Celebration at the Empire State Plaza on Monday. NX Northway commuter service will not operate its regularly scheduled service on Monday, July 4, 2011.

Alison rides the bus many days during the work week to get to work. She often drives to her parents’ house in Altamont to drop off both her car and her dog for doggie care and takes Route #21X Altamont Express bus into downtown Albany to her work at the Department of Social Services. She says the 21X bus operators are wonderful and she likes to say hello to her riding peers every day.

The Summer Fun Pass is on sale at multiple Mr. Subb locations throughout the Capital Region, online at www.cdta.org, and at CDTA sales office located at 85 Watervliet Avenue or Proctors Theatre in Schenectady.
(Albany, NY) - The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and several local municipalities have jumped onboard with hundreds of other national transit agencies to participate in the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) Sixth Annual National Dump the Pump Day on Thursday, June 16th. The awareness campaign is designed to encourage people to ride public transportation and save money, instead of driving a car.
(ALBANY) - The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) is providing special weekday summer service to Grafton Park from Tuesday, July 5 – Friday, September 2, 2011.
CDTA has provided Grafton Park service for over 25 years. Customers can board Grafton Park buses at any CDTA bus stop along the route. Amenities offered by the Park include: picnic areas, beach swimming, hiking trails, bicycling areas, nature trails, fishing, playground and boat rentals. The schedule is included below.

Madison Avenue between Eagle Street and Swan Street will be closed 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10 through 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12th. The CDTA reroutes will be in effect during the same time.
