Service Changes Effective Sunday, November 5, 2023

Adjustments to routes are made on a regular basis in response to ridership trends, development patterns, as well as customer and employee input

ALBANY, NY (October 25, 2023) - The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will make service changes to several routes on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Adjustments to routes are made on a regular basis in response to ridership trends, development patterns, as well as customer and employee input. The most notable change is the rollout of our Purple Line BRT. It is our newest Bus Rapid Transit line, and it will run along the Washington and Western Avenue corridors. Customers should review route schedules and check trip times for any of the following routes: 

Purple Line Updates:

Service Updates:

  • Route 13 (New Scotland Avenue) – additional trips will be added to serve the Vista Technology Campus.
  • Route 18 (Delaware Avenue)additional trips will be added to serve the Vista Technology Campus.
  • Route 370 (Troy/Schenectady) – a new stop will be added at Shoppes of Latham Circle.

Eliminated Routes:

  • Route 11 (SUNY Shuttle) – this route will be eliminated due to the amount of service added for the Purple Line BRT. Customers can use Route 111 to get to their destination.
  • Route 115 (Madison Ave/Western Ave) – this route will be eliminated due to the amount of service added for the Purple Line BRT. Customers can use Route 111 or Route 114 to get to their destination.
  • Route 523 (Exit 23/McCarty Express) – will no longer operator due to the closure of the McCarty OGS satellite lot.
